ABSTRACT
Before we discuss the relation between cybernetics and cognition (George, 1961) we must first say something about the methods and purposes which collectively we call “Cybernetics”, and here we shall emphasize only those aspects of cybernetics which are concerned with cognitive behaviour and, perhaps, biology. Cybernetics is, of course, also closely concerned with physics, engineering, and much else besides.
