ABSTRACT

This chapter examines implications for spatial and social equity in Midwestern Mexican-American landscape types, as well as their implications for design and planning. I then consider how these insights may be applied to other emerging immigrant destinations, and what this work means for larger cities and places outside the American Midwest. Part of these generalizable findings takes the form of guidelines synthesized from the hypothetical case studies in Chapters 4, 5, and 6. I then discuss how this research was conducted, and critique the methods and research design used. The chapter closes with a review of highlights and a call for future work, along with some final thoughts.
