ABSTRACT

Intimate partner sexual violence (IPSV), like other forms of woman abuse (e.g., coercive control and battering), can only be curbed through the creation and implementation of policies that target the broader social and social psychological forces that perpetuate and legitimate intimate violence (True, 2012). What are these forces? Of course, it is impossible to simply pick out one “reason” and announce that it covers all cases at all times. Yet, it is nonetheless true that male peer support is one of the most powerful determinants of why men use IPSV.
