ABSTRACT

The analysis of HR programs offers HR teams an important opportunity to show value by converting impact data to money and, in turn, gaining appreciation, particularly from executives and operating managers. Some measures, such as quality, time, and productivity, are converted easily to money. Others, such as company image, reputation, job satisfaction, engagement, stress, and teamwork, prove more difficult. And sometimes, “show me the money” is not the right approach, especially when certain benefits should be reported as intangibles. This chapter explores the techniques, challenges, and opportunities for converting data to money.
