ABSTRACT

With this chapter I start over, emphasizing now the macro aspects of organizational behavior, rather than the micro concerns of motivation and leadership. This first such chapter is devoted appropriately to two books and the issues they tackle—Administrative Behavior: A Study of Decision-Making Processes in Administrative Organizations (Simon 1947, 1957, 1976, 1997), which was issued in four editions, although I will focus primarily on the first and fourth versions, and Organizations (March and Simon 1958).
