ABSTRACT
In January 2012 Primo enacted an “English-only” policy specifically prohibiting the speaking of Spanish on the company premises, except in dealing with customers. The policy was posted on the door at the entrance of the office building in which Primo was located. The same sign conspicuously coupled the policy with a warning about weapons. Specifically, the sign read:
Absolutely No Guns, Knives, or Weapons of any kind are allowed on these Premises at any time! English is the official language of Primo Operator Services, Inc. All conversations on these premises are to be in English. Other languages may be spoken to customers who cannot speak English.
