ABSTRACT
John Stuart Mill’s argument for social justice and utility forms a significant part of his Utilitarianism (1861).2 It is just to respect and unjust to violate the legal rights of any person. Justice means adherence to law. However, sometimes there are bad laws. Humans have moral rights that transcend such laws. In addition, people should get what they deserve.
