ABSTRACT

There are those in the human family who thrive on war; either for personal reasons or out of national pride, these warriors seek out war. They become heroes in folklore, literature, movies, and video games. This warrior urge seems to totally overpower some. Quests for glory, geography, and wealth go back to the dawn of time. To these people war is necessary. Weapons become sacred symbols. Warrior inclination sees humans in negative ways. The enemy-its soldiers and nonfighting citizens-are seen as subhuman. Death and destruction in the name of victory are justified.2
