ABSTRACT
In some texts, the crimes of online harassment and cyberstalking are separate and in others they are considered to be the same. Here the two are considered separate and will be discussed separately. That being stated, there is no denying that these crimes are often related. This chapter will begin by examining online harassment, including acts that have come to be known as cyberbullying , and then move to a discussion of traditional harassment perpetrated through digital means. The second portion of the chapter will then examine the crime of cyberstalking , first providing the reader with a brief overview of traditional stalking in the physical realm and then moving to a discussion of how the Internet and electronic communications have impacted this criminal act.
