ABSTRACT
Victor E. Kappeler is Chair and Foundation Professor of Criminal Justice at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. He received his Ph.D. from Sam Houston State University. He has published a number of books and articles in the areas of police liability, police deviance and ethics, the media and crime, community policing, and police and society. His current interests include the social construction of crime, ideology and crime, and crime and popular culture.
