ABSTRACT

Well Uncle Abraham Morey was goin off to church when he spied a nice fish on a flake, so he took 'un and put 'un under his coat, went in church and sets down. The preacher started preachin and his text was, “Abraham, what hast thou in thy bosom?" Uncle Abe was gettin a little fidgity [storyteller moves around on his chair looking fidgity] wonderin how the preacher knowed he stole a fish. The preacher says agin, "Abraham, what hast thou in thy bosom?” Uncle Abe begun t'shake and agin, “Abraham, what hast thou in thy bosom?” Uncle Abe could stand it no longer, so he says, "Here, take the damn old fish if ya wants it!” [Mr. Hibbs stands up and imitates action o f throwing the fish to the preacher. ]
