ABSTRACT

This chapter covers fire prevention in the workplace and how to ensure that people are properly protected if fire does occur. Fire is still a major risk in many workplaces (see Figure 12.1).

At the beginning of the 21st century, the population of the Earth was 6,300,000,000 people, who annually experience a reported 7,000,000-8,000,000 fires with 70,000-80,000 fire deaths and 500,000800,000 fire injuries.
