ABSTRACT
It is generally seen that multiple political trends interact and co-exist among a particular social group. The Muslim communities of Bihar were no exception to this. This chapter traces the origin and growth of discord between Hindus and Muslims that led to the emergence of a separatist political trend, howsoever weak, among the Muslims of Bihar.
