ABSTRACT

The fastest method of making a wig with a natural looking hairline is to add what is called a lace front to a preexisting commercial wig. Commercial wigs have a simple generic hairline and rarely do these hairlines match the performer's hairline. Commercial wigs also have a very dense abrupt hairline, which does not resemble the very gradual way a real human hairline starts and stops on the face. The commercial wig is placed directly over the lace and secured to the block. Ventilate very densely close to the commercial wig hairline. Standard Front is the most common method used to add a lace front to a commercial wig. Many commercial wigs in recent years have solid plastic tops that are supposed to look like a scalp if the wig hair is parted. Commercial wigs are made to be worn hanging down with the nape of the foundation covered by hair.
