ABSTRACT
Chapter 1 covered the reasons for making a risk assessment and the definitions of hazard and risk. This chapter covers the way in which a risk assessment should be made and recorded. In most firms in the service or light industrial sectors, or in office accommodation, hazards are limited and simple. Identifying the hazards is not complicated and the risk assessment is nothing more than simply thinking about what could harm people and whether the precautions are adequate.
