ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses a lecturer’s personal reflective account of how English could be adapted to be a placed resource for communication in a local context of Vietnam (Prinsloo & Rowsell, 2012). His reflection showcased the challenges he encountered in his international communication in English and in English language teaching. Through his reflection, the lecturer offered a tool he used to deal with these challenges. Although the tool may not be a skeleton key for other contexts, it could serve as the starting point for teachers of English to address the questions of what and how to teach global Englishes.
