ABSTRACT
Recent years have seen changes in the way welfare states are managed and organised. A simple hierarchical model is no longer necessarily the way of managing the welfare state. Networks, coordination and delegation are also used. In this chapter the focus is on new elements in the way welfare states are organised, managed and steered.
