The power of social rupture

I close this book with a return to Henri Lefebvre’s statement that a revolution which does not produce new space is a failed event. Lefebvre’s assertion directly defines space as a form of cultural and social expression. Revolutions, by definition, do not come from above, but are an uprising, an expression of power and agency by a people seeking rapid change of an existing system.
