ABSTRACT

This chapter attempts to answer some of the more frequently asked questions about authors' company, Frantic Theatre Company Limited, their work and their working relationship. It uses the fight scene from a film, Stockholm, to illustrate that the journey from idea to production is not always linear. It is often formed by mistakes and sometimes it is a deliberately twisty route that can lead to a much more complex and rich scene. As with film scores, several Frantic shows have attempted to create a consistent sound and in this way create an arc, in the same way as one might consider the arc of a storyline. Throughout the development of Frantic Assembly, one of the most invigorating and exciting artistic discoveries has been that afforded by the exploration of music in their work. The Frantic rehearsal room is a well-considered space but not always the most organised.
