ABSTRACT
Introduction Flat roofing materials, which form an impermeable water barrier, include reinforced bitumen membrane systems, mastic asphalt, single-ply plastic membranes and liquid coatings. All of these materials require continuous support on an appropriate roof decking system. Green roofs are considered as an extension of the standard roofing systems. Metal roofing systems are described in Chapter 5.
