IN DISCUSSING HIS WORK in fourteen wrongful conviction cases, private investigator Martin Yant made an interesting observation. While DNA had freed from prison many innocent people, it may have actually raised barriers for innocent inmates who had been convicted of crimes with no DNA evidence. For some prosecutors, no DNA means no second look. Once again, I wondered why my friend Mark Godsey had gotten involved with Gillispie, the case with no DNA.
