ABSTRACT
This chapter describes and reviews the project’s design and the methodology employed for researching literacy lives within and beyond the contexts of the schools involved in the study. The chapter begins by explaining the rationale that underpinned the overall design, which involved a combination of research and professional development activities; the strategies for sampling and recruiting participants; the methods, used for collecting, analysing and interpreting data; and the nature and intended purposes of the incorporated professional development activities.
