ABSTRACT
Throughout this textbook, site-based leadership has been mentioned frequently. At times our treatment of the concept has been direct, but most often it has only hinted at the growing importance of school-based leadership. A companion purpose, though, has been to integrate site-based leadership into our entire discussion. As we near the end of our introduction to school finance and resource management, we address site-based leadership head-on and explain more fully why it is so important. As a result, we use site-based leadership in this chapter to pull together the many parts of this book.
