ABSTRACT

As technologies have improved over the last two decades, the ability for humans to connect in real time has increased dramatically. In the early days of the web, BBSs and chatrooms gave people the ability to talk via text, though this lost some of the context of facial and emotional expression, such as laughter or anger. As camera and video technology evolved, so did its use online through the introduction of Skype and other video-chat programs. In fact, most laptops, tablets, and mobile phones have cameras installed to ensure that we can share our experiences in visual and audio formats.
