ABSTRACT

The three primary puppets used in the model have their own personalities and purposes such as: Max/Maxine, Koko, and Bunny. The more specific the information given about either puppet's family, the more complicated it will be for the group leaders to remember what they have said about Koko and Bunny from session to session. The children recognize him/her as the character in the book Where the Wild Things Are, and are delighted to see him/her come alive in the form of a puppet. Koko is an energetic and very mischievous monkey who likes to play and have lots of fun. Unlike Koko, Bunny wants to please the adults and works hard to follow the rules and not do anything wrong. Like Bunny, many children who have witnessed or experienced trauma in their lives have learned how to survive in this kind of environment by making themselves 'invisible'.
