ABSTRACT

Americans have changed the way they travel. A sagging economy, the wealth of information on the Internet, and cutbacks in business travel have all contributed to the less-than-bustling hotel industry. Corporations now curtail their employees' frequent trips out of town, opting instead to conduct business via the telephone and Internet. Hotels target leisure travelers to fill that gap and increase occupancy rates. One tool they are using is the price guarantee.
