ABSTRACT

The aim of the present study has been to establish a methodology by which and a framework within which the socio-economic data both explicit and implicit in the P. Wilbour apportioning paragraphs may be retrieved, analyzed, and evaluated. Emphasis has necessarily been placed upon the rigorous definition of the variables and their categories and the methodological and consistent classification of the data according to these categories. As the limitations of time and space preclude the exhaustive analysis of the data, it has been necessary to restrict attention to such preliminary undertakings as the detailed description of the apportioning data by means of SPSS subprograms CONDESCRIPTIVE and FREQUENCIES, and the two-way crosstabulation of variables and their evaluation by means of subprogram CROSSTABS.
