ABSTRACT
During the Iranian hostage crisis in 1979, similar scenarios were repeated in 62 homes across the United States, and the families and friends-indeed the entire nation-held its breath to see what would happen next. What happened was a dramatic 444-day siege during which we worried not only for the welfare of the hostages, but for their families as well, who were also victims of this traumatic event.
