ABSTRACT

Clarissa W. Confer is an Associate Professor of History and the Director of the LaDonna Harris Native American Institute at California University of Pennsylvania. She is the author of The Cherokee Nation in the Civil War (University of Oklahoma Press, 2007), which explores the social history of Cherokee Indians during the turmoil of internal and external division, Daily Life in Pre-Columbian Native America (Greenwood Press, 2007), and Daily Life During the Indian Wars (Greenwood Press, 2010).
