ABSTRACT
The organ of Corti is a structure attached to the interior side of the basilar membrane. From it protrude four rows of thin cells running the length of the basilar membrane that are called hair cells. They are immersed in the interior fluid, called the endolymphatic fluid, in the tube bounded by the basilar membrane and Reissner's membrane.
