ABSTRACT
Unlike genetic reward schemes, bucket brigade schemes are subgoal reward schemes. Genetic schemes operating in parallel are here compared with a sequentially operating bucket brigade scheme. Sequential genetic schemes and parallel bucket brigade schemes are also examined in order to highlight the non-genetic nature of the bucket brigade.
