ABSTRACT
This opinion piece was written by a member of the news staff following the firebombing of the offices of Gay Community News in Boston on July 7, 1982. On November 10, 1980, Ronald Crumpley opened fire with a machine gun on the patrons of the Ramrod, a bar in Greenwich Village. Although two men died, Crumpley was found “not responsible by means of a mental defect.”
