ABSTRACT

This chapter includes a written exercise and practice opportunities designed to help you put together all of the helping skills you have learned. For the written exercise, read the situation below, and complete the blanks with an example of what you would say or do if you were actually responding to a client in a helping situation. For example, you might respond to the requirement “Arrange the office” with the answer, “I would move the chairs so that we could face each other.” “Exchange initial greeting” might be answered: “Hello, Mr. Williams, I am Jane Marconi. It's good to see you.”
