ABSTRACT
In the final stages of a psycho-therapy in which there has been regression localised to the analytic situation, and developed and held within the professional setting of the treatment, it becomes evident that there is a close relationship between this regression and the ordinary withdrawal. Withdrawal is a common phenomenon, and if conditions are not favourable the withdrawal is organised in a hostile way, and the word sulking is applicable.
