ABSTRACT
The preliminary examination of the scope of psychosomatic paediatrics has only shown the need for an understanding of the emotional development of the individual. On the somatic side the paediatrician bases everything on anatomy and physiology, and on the psyche side there must be an equivalent discipline. Academic psychology does not supply the answer. The only answer is dynamic psychology, or in other words psycho-analysis.
