ABSTRACT

A number of programs for the treatment of intrafamily child sexual abuse have been described recently (e.g., Anderson and Schaffer, 1979; Giaretto, 1981, 1982; Justice and Justice, 1979). Although this is an encouraging beginning, a need exists for specific techniques to be presented which may prove useful to therapists working with incest families. The purpose of this paper is to describe one technique which we have found extremely useful in the family treatment of incest, the apology session.
