This chapter explores the parallels between the legend of the Holy Grail, which is inextricably bound up with the Arthurian tradition, and the Ossetic accounts of the Nartamongae, or "Revealer of the Narts," a magical vessel that plays an equally significant role in the Nart sagas.1
