ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to provide a context for our assessment work and to suggest a general methodology for measuring workforce readiness competencies. Our approach focuses on measures of two competencies that teachers could administer and score. The chapters by O'Neil, Allred, and Dennis (chapter 9, this volume) and O'Neil, Chung, and Brown (chapter 16, this volume) focus on approaches that are computer-administered and scored.
