Conflict Avoidance and the Behavior of the Listener: Toward a Typology of Marriage

In this chapter, the idea of types of marriages is explored, as opposed to a dimensional view. A 2 × 2 typology is proposed, using RCISS speaker and listener slopes. The issue of conflict avoidance and conflict engagement is investigated empirically.
