ABSTRACT
A trend analysis can be understood as a test of a specific contrast. Therefore, in SPSS, the programs for trend analyses are included as an optional specification within the programs for contrasts. For this reason the programs for trend analyses are similar to the programs for contrasts under MANOVA. Some of the verbalization in this chapter will therefore be similar to what appears in Chapter 6. The material is restated so that it will not be necessary to read both chapters when only doing a trend analysis, or only doing a special contrast.
