ABSTRACT

In any discussion of developmental processes, several topics arise and include stability, change, continuity, discontinuity, and history. These topics all appear here and are tied to the concept of time. The interest in time and its study originates in the earliest o f western thought (Ariotti, 1975) and continues today (see Bergson, 1964; Fraisse, 1964; Fraser, 1967; Nisbet, 1980; Riegel, 1972).
