Introduction

This book highlights emotional cutoff, one concept in Bowen family systems theory. It must be understood in the context of the eight interlocking concepts that constitute Bowen theory. I refer the reader to the original writings of Bowen (1978), Kerr and Bowen (1988), and Papero (1990) for excellent renderings of Bowen theory in its full breadth.
