ABSTRACT

Homework is a mutually agreed upon task to be performed by the client between sessions (Berg and Reuss. 1998). "Real life" offers our clients many more opportunities to grow than all our therapy sessions put together. Homework helps clients take advantage of these learning opportunities, and then process what has been learned in the next session. Treatment works best when it is clearly connected in the client's mind to life outside counseling sessions. Sometimes stuck clients are not connecting their therapy to their real-life problems.
