ABSTRACT

We can often learn more from the one time we do things right than from the hundreds of times we do things wrong. Hopeless clients sometimes assume that they've survived only by "luck," and they may not realize all they are doing to keep the problem from getting worse. They may dismiss times without the problem as random aberrations outside their control. We can develop a close relationship with our clients just as easily by discussing their strengths and possible solutions to their problems as we can by discussing their shortcomings and possible explanations for the problems.
