ABSTRACT

Tom became completely blind at the age of twenty-three, when he discovered that he had AIDS, and suffered from meningitis that resulted in the severing of his optic nerves. Although Tom was told that he would not live through the night, days turned into weeks, and weeks into years. He began to feel physically healthy and slowly developed the realization that his death was not as immediate as had been expected. He started to make short-term plans for his life.
