How is peace to be secured in Asia?(( ¹ ) This is an important question as Asia has been the scene of a great number of conflicts since the end of World War II. In part, these were conflicts among or within Asian countries, in part, conflicts in which external major powers were involved. Some of them, like the wars in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Cambodia, can be rated amongst the most violent of the post-war period.
