ABSTRACT
I came to know Mary while working in a treatment program for victims of sexual abuse. Mary came to our clinic for family counseling at the request of her 28-year-old daughter. As a child, the daughter had been sexually abused by her maternal uncle. She had come to a point in her therapy where she was ready to inform her mother of her secret childhood trauma.
