ABSTRACT
On 29 January 2003, a new early years curriculum was introduced in Singapore. The launch of the curriculum, entitled A Framework for a Kindergarten Curriculum in Singapore (Ministry of Education, 2003a), was a landmark initiative in the early years sector as it marked the beginnings of a nationally endorsed curriculum for all preschool children and an official benchmark of what a preschool curriculum should entail.
