ABSTRACT

The Knowledge Management and Innovation Research Center (KMIRC) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University was set up in 2007 for the promotion of practice and research of knowledge management (KM) and intellectual capital (IC) management in Hong Kong and the neighboring regions. Most of our research is company and industry based. The capabilities and competences of the KMIRC are further strengthened by the international alliances it has formed with leading practitioners, many of whom are regarded as “Hall of Famers” of knowledge management, and with renowned research centers worldwide. The KMIRC is actively engaged in research and scholarly activities in both the technological aspects and the human and organizational aspects of KM. It has pioneered research and practice in KM in various industrial sectors. Currently, there are three focuses of research in the center:

Intellectual capital management

Knowledge systems technologies

Organizational learning
