ABSTRACT

This book has set out provide a number of ideas and suggestions. You may choose to use adapt or reject them. In doing so you will develop ideas of your own as you investigate one of the most complex managerial issues known, the improvement of quality in education. Throughout the book there has been a number of recurring themes some of which I bring together, by way of a conclusion:

decide what quality means for you in line with the overall strategy of the organization;

quality in education will not improve unless the staff of the organization are motivated to do so. Keep this in mind when you develop new systems;

team development and empowerment will help and provide staff with the necessary authority to make changes;

the attitudes and attention of management is crucial.
